We live in one of the most remarkable times in history.
Since the ancient era when biblical texts were first written, there have been two great leaps forward in scriptural understanding. The first was around the time of the fifteenth/sixteenth century Renaissance when printing presses with movable type plus modern language translations brought the Bible to a wider audience.
The second is occurring NOW as the Internet makes available to everyone information previously only accessed by bible scholars with time and resources for study. The internet also facilitates the sharing of material between academic disciplines. So we can know more about what life was like in ancient times and therefore understand better the meaning of the biblical text.
